The still, snowy mountains; the drifting, fleecy clouds, ocean waves are diachronic and synchronic. They seem to be changing but they are not changing. The magnificence of life and its metaphors take my breath away. I documented these few minutes of their everlasting life. For even if the ocean waves drifting clouds and snowy mountains are no longer the the same as these, they will stay permanently. In the I Ching, the oldest of the Chinese classical philosophies, there are three fundamental principles of change. The first constant is that everything changes (变易).The second principle is change through simplification (简易). The third principle is that even though things change, things may not change (不易). This was the historical context that evoked my feelings, but I didn’t make it redundant in the piece. I simply documented the scenes that touched me.
